Marketing Genius
Tell us about your working career to date and what brought you to Genius?

After University, I worked in various marketing roles.  My career really kicked off when I landed a marketing role at Apple.  It was the most exciting time of my life.  4 years there as Marketing Manager, followed by 8 years at Microsoft.  Two children gave me a small career break, but I returned full time to Samsung in 2017 in a Senior Marketing role.  I decided to go agency side just before lockdown 2020 and it was the best decision I have made. I am much better suited to this environment now.  Genius came along and I absolutely love it!

What do you like most about your role?

I have a varied role.  I support clients with marketing and the marketing for Genius itself.  I feel blessed to have a great boss like Emma.  She is understanding and flexible.  I am extremely passionate about Genius and will work my socks off to help continue the company to be successful.  The other bonus is having a superbly talented team by your side.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Well, I am a mum to two amazing daughters and two lazy cats.  I love walking and I will do a Hiit or Yoga session when I have the time.  I like to read.  I love the authors Peter James, Lynda La Plante and Matt Haig.  I am also at the start of a course in Journalism, as I enjoy writing. So busy, busy.

Any recommendations on music/podcasts/boxsets/movies/apps that you have downloaded/listened to /watched recently?

Music – I listened to Radio 2 most days.  I love anything from Kings of Leon to George Michael to Taylor Swift to 80’s.  I’m a real mix bag.  Nothing better than a boogie round the kitchen.

I have just started Bridgeton, but I do like watching anything crime solving related (although it scares me a bit).  So, I recommend Mindhunter, The Ripper, The Pembrokeshire Murders for starters.  I also recently watched Official Secrets with Keira Knightly in – that is worth a watch.
